Working with metals is a conversation in form, texture and color. Each metal speaks its own language and has its
own poetry. Jewelry is a way to make small poems in metal. Each piece is inspired by the beauty of the natural world,
plants, planets, cells and organisms but also by mythology and the antiquities.
My experience as an artifact handler
and mount maker combine with my love of literature and nature to create lyrical pieces of jewelry. For the last 7 years
I have been designing and fabricating copper, brass and sterling jewelry in my Shepherdstown WV studio. I love to
use American artisan cut cabochons and interesting up cycled metals in combination with traditional metalsmithing
methods.
